Immunosuppressie bij multifocale motorische neuropathie

Terwijl het geven van intraveneuze immuunglobulines zinvol lijkt bij de MMN, de multifocale motorische neuropathie, is dat vooralsnog niet het geval voor immuun-onderdrukkende stoffen, zoals bijvoorbeeld mycophenolate. De Cochrane-analyse van januari 2009 analyseerde het materiaal dat voorhanden is en kwam tot de conclusie dat het bewijs afwezig was:

In the only randomised placebo-controlled trial of any immunosuppressive agent, mycophenolate mofetil did not produce significant benefit. Trials of other immunosuppressants should be undertaken. ^[1]
