Working on a cure for diabetic neuropathy: cooperation TRDX & Genesis Biopharma
SciMeDent Health, Corp. f/k/a Trend Exploration, Inc. ("TRDX") cooperates with Genesis Biopharma, Inc. to work on a new development of curing (sic!) diabetic painful neuropathy. With nearly 300 million people suffering from diabetic neuropathy workld wide and only in de USA each year 80.000 amputations due to diabetes, there is a hugh unmet need in this indication.

In a recent (end of june) press release we could read:

Mr. Leo Stella, CEO of Genesis, stated: "Until now, there is absolutely no mechanism based treatment that can reverse neuropathy associated with diabetes. Drugs exist that have a temporary effect on the pain, but these drugs can not cure the cause. As stated above, there are more than 50 Million people worldwide and about 5 million in the U.S. who suffer from nerve damage of some kind that affects their ability to sleep, walk, drive a vehicle, and do just about any task that requires movement without pain. The goal of Genesis Biopharma is to develop a drug that will cure this terrible condition."

What it is remains unclear, but the molecule should cure diabetic neuropathy. Pre-clinical development has been completed for the treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy in two species as well as clinical development (first formulation, part of the stress and stability studies of the drug substance and drug product).

A phase I trial is in design phase.
